Payment Options

• Medicare will pay for 100% of home care services for those 65 years of age and older who meet the criteria, which includes the following:
  
  • Home health services are medically necessary and ordered by a physician;
    
  • The patient is homebound, meaning that they can only leave home with considerable effort for infrequent and short periods;
    
  • At least one skilled service is required (nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy);
    
  • The services can only be provided on a part-time or intermittent basis.
• Medicaid is a federal and state program for those with limited income who have no other means of receiving needed home health services. Contact the Connecticut Department of Social Services for further information regarding eligibility.
• Private insurance
• Self pay
• Area Agencies on Aging for those who meet the income criteria.
• Veterans Administration
• Charitable care is available on a limited basis for residents of Essex and Chester.
