To administer intravenous fluids and medications to patients safely at home.
The Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, Inc. provides I.V. treatment via contract, once thought to only be available
in an in-patient setting, in the comfort of a patient's own home. It is provided in the home with the same high
quality and safety as found in any hospital facility. VNLV's program is based on adherence to strict protocol that
has been reviewed and approved by the State of Connecticut as well as the Joint Commission of Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations.
The I.V. Therapy nurse is a registered nurse who is qualified by education and training to administer I.V. fluids/mixtures. A nurse is on 24-hour call for those patients who are receiving home I.V. Therapy.
Services are available from the Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, Inc. to anyone living in Centerbrook, Clinton, East Haddam, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Chester, Deep River, Haddam, Ivoryton, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
