Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, Inc.
Are you finding it difficult to manage your medication? Do you have a loved one who is struggling with a
dependence on alcohol?
The Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley and The Rushford Center can help.
The VNA and Rushford are partnering to bring substance abuse education and assessment & treatment services
to seniors in the Lower Valley region.
Educational seminars, offered at local senior centers, provide seniors with information on medication management,
grief & loss and nutrition & eating disorders. Special presentation topics can be tailored to your particular
group's needs. Call the VNA for more details on upcoming presentations.
Confidential alcohol and drug assessments are conducted right in the VNA offices. Or, if you prefer, you may call
Rushford directly to set up an appointment. After the initial evaluation you will work with a professional drug
and alcohol counselor with a background in serving seniors, to determine an appropriate type and level of care
needed to get you on the rood to recovery and better health.
Simply call the Visiting Nurses at 767-0186 in Centerbrook or 510-0628 in Old Saybrook or call the Senior Outreach
Coordinator at Rushford at 346-0300 to set up a confidential appointment. You'll be glad you did.
